Personal Counseling

Students frequently face challenges outside of the classroom.  These challenges are varied, but some examples might include:  transitioning to high school, relationship issues with friends or family, overcoming personal lows, depression, anxiety, etc.  The school counselors are available and eager to assist with these issues.  Students are encouraged to make an appointment with their counselor as needed.  There are also times when a teacher, friend or parent might refer a student to the guidance office.  In this case the student’s counselor will find a time to meet with the student.  If a problem is beyond the scope of the counselor, referrals to professionals outside of school made be made.  The guidance staff also includes a pastoral counseling intern who students may see as well.
